Polliconnect

PolliConnect is a project that aims to monitor pollinators, such as bees and butterflies, in real time using a camera and artificial intelligence algorithms.

Why this project?

The basic objective of the PolliConnect project was to monitor pollinator activity to better understand their essential role in ecosystems and agriculture. We chose this project because the decline in pollinators poses a major risk to biodiversity and food production. By using image recognition technologies, we wanted to provide an innovative solution to monitor their population in real time and contribute to their preservation.

My role

I was part of a team of 5 people, with a clear division between hardware and software. My role was to develop the software part dedicated to image recognition, using artificial intelligence algorithms to detect and analyze pollinators. This close collaboration allowed us to create a complete and efficient solution.

Lessons Learned

Through the PolliConnect project, I gained valuable skills in collaborative project management and development. I strengthened my skills with tools such as GitHub to manage source code and ensure efficient team version tracking, and Trello to organize tasks and track project progress. This experience also allowed me to better understand the integration between hardware and software, as well as the importance of smooth communication to successfully complete a multidisciplinary project.
